Dr. Ellen Heinitz graduated with honors from the National University of Naturopathic Medicine after receiving a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition from Oregon State University. She has been in primary care practice for 20 years. Dr. Heinitz uses a variety of traditional and conventional healing modalities including nutritional, herbal, homeopathic, and compounded hormones and pharmaceutical medications to treat both acute and chronic conditions.
As a naturopathic physician, Dr. Heinitz is trained to diagnose individuals using a complete history, physical exam, labs, and diagnostic imaging.
Having a special interest in functional medicine, Dr. Heinitz seeks to achieve optimal health for her patients, not just the absence of disease. Just a few of the conditions she has particular success in treating include acne, digestive and liver disorders, premenstrual syndrome, menopause, adrenal and thyroid imbalances, and female and male infertility. Reaching out to the medically underserved is Dr. Heinitz’s passion. She has recently lived in the rural Western Highlands of Guatemala for two years, providing access to healthcare for those who need it most. She seeks to educate her patients and the public to bring about a personal transformation to health.
